Spiritual, Not Religious
The majority of people we know who pursue a better relationship with God and self are spiritual: they have clay feet, ugly warts and messy scars. They are not air-brushed and hi-glossed. While they pursue perfection, it often eludes them. But along the journey they learn much about God, and themselves. And without fail they agree, every messy step of the way has been worth it.
We're a faith community for spiritual people, not religious folks. Like Jesus, we don't dish out or take condemnation, but change through the challenge of love.
What makes us spiritual?
For one thing, we don't use religious rituals that have long lost their meaning. We infuse everything we do with purpose. In fact, if it doesn't fit the purpose of the faith community Jesus came to establish, then we don't do it at all.
The Spirit of God leads all of our meetings. All of our front people are sensitive to this leading. We are all searching for the kingdom within, not in our attire. So, meeting times are not staged fashion shows. The music styles we use are familiar...both on Christian and secular radio and television shows. We put the good news in the world's music, and in so doing, spiritualize the culture.
Jesus said the kingdom of God is within us. But eternity also dwells in us, so our inner selves are a vast territory. And that can make it difficult to locate the kingdom within. If we don't know its coordinates, we can't experience it. The goal of this fellowship is to help people find their way to the kingdom within. Think of us as your spiritual AAA, providing all the resources you'll need to get there, safely.
